DON’T LOOK NOW is a 30 minute sitcom filmed in documentary style. Set in an underfunded Arizona school for the visually impaired, DON’TLOOK NOW explores the daily challenges of an diverse group of teachers and staff who outwardly seem to share only one thing in common: their visual impairment.
At the heart of the show is CJ’s struggle to lead his eccentric “low vision family” of staff and students in an ever-changing technological world and help them all become the champions he knows they already are.
Each episode will tackle societal issues and demonstrate teachable moments to inform sighted viewers on the common misconceptions about the visually impaired community.
Through Aanya’s journey with RP (retinitis pigmentosa), the audience will also experience what it is like to lose your vision.
DON’T LOOK NOW employs a cinema verite style similar to The Office and Abbott Elementary, and pushes the edge of irreverent humor with a tone akin to Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Arrested Development.
